KIK Greek yoghurt pop tart
Pop tarts are so delicious but sometimes you don’t want all the sugar and calories. So why not make yourself a healthy version full of complex carbs from oats, and loaded with protein from Greek yoghurt? This recipe can be enjoyed as a yummy snack or even as a breakfast!
Ingredients:
Dough:
1/2 cups oat flour
50g KIK plain Greek yoghurt
1 tbsp of stevia
1 tbsp of honey
2 tbsp of milk (or any alternative milk)
2 tbsp cocoa powder
Filling:
1 tbsp strawberry jam
Topping:
1 tbsp KIK vanilla Greek yoghurt
1 tbsp KIK creamy peanut butter
Chocolate sprinkles
Instructions:
1- Pre-heat over to 200 degrees Celsius.
2- Mix all dough ingredients together until well combined.
3- Roll dough into a flat sheet, and cut into 2 rectangles.
4- Add 1 tbsp of strawberry jam on one of the rectangles, and use the other rectangle to cover it. Make sure to align both rectangles perfectly.
5- Use a fork and press down on all edges to seal the pop tart, and to create the infamous pop tart look.
6- Bake pop tart for 15 mins in pre-heated oven.
7- After baking, allow pop tart to fully cool down before adding frosting and toppings. Give it 30 mins to an hour of cooling time.
8-Once fully cool to the touch, spread 1 tbsp vanilla Greek yoghurt and 1tbsp of peanut butter in dollops on top of the pop tart. Use a toothpick to create swirls and top with chocolate sprinkles.
Notes:
- You can substitute strawberries jam filling with healthy Nutella.
- You can substitute honey with maple syrup.
- You can sweeten Greek yoghurt topping by mixing 1tsp of honey into it.
- If you don't have oat flour, get regular oats and grind them up in a food processor or a blender.
- Use crunch peanut butter in frosting instead of creamy for a crunchy experience in your pop tart.
